wrote on September 4, 2020 at 7:26 am I first came to hear of Heliconia when I met Carli during our corresponding study of cultural anthropology. I was honestly amazed by her efforts in setting up a project like this at so young an age. I listened to her experiences and vision behind the charity, and was even more humbled.
I think it is beautiful to want to share these opportunities that are just given to us and actively work to make sure woman in Indonesia get a chance to go to university and study what they’re interested in and become independent. I met one of the students once, and now I think also member of the foundation, and it was really insightful in what a difference this foundation had made to her life and in turn she has made to the foundation. Goodness will always ripple through. It is so important to understand it is never a one way gift. I want to thank you Carli for appearing in my life and showing me how easy it is to be kind but you have to put in work to make sure it has an effect on the bigger world.

Being a Heliconia scholar, I was eager for good accomplishment. Heliconia supported me well. I feel blessed. My life has been better. I have a good job. Now, I can support my self and my mother.
