Cooperation partner Mili Chana visited the Netherlands for the first time! In May 2016 we could finally invite her on this special journey. For Mili it was her first time to travel to Europe. She stayed with chairperson Carli Kooper and they had a lovely time together. Carli had visited Mili and Indonesia, learning about the students, Indonesian university life and culture. Now, Mili could finally also experience the Dutch culture, get to know all the other board members better and see for herself how the foundation operates in the Netherlands. Carli and Mili spend a lot of time catching up, discussing work methods and making plans for the future. Of course, they also took time to visit Amsterdam sights, go on a motorbike trip and share about their personal lives.
One of our foundation's main bedrocks is that we are dedicated to each other on a personal level. Over the years, we have learned that this commitment to each other is the most important key to our success. By investing in our mutual ties we ensure that we stay together as the Heliconia Community and keep up our good work. Board members, cooperation partners and students all feel most motivated to give their best, when we are aware of each other's efforts in making this charity a success. Therefore, we make sure to visit each other every few years, so we can get to know each other ever better and renew our bonds and friendship.
