Naomi Indah Sari has officially become our second cooperation partner in Indonesia in February 2018. She has already been working for the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation as a volunteer since 2012 and assisted Mili Chana in her work. Now that our foundation is growing, we are happy to welcome Naomi as an official part of the Heliconia Community! Together with Mili, she is responsible for the selection and guidance of students.
Within our foundation, board members in the Netherlands and our cooperation partners in the field have regular contact. In that way, we can keep our work methods up to date and improve them where necessary. Chairperson Carli Kooper and Naomi have already met each other in 2013, when Carli was doing her master's research in Jakarta. During those months they spend a few days getting to know each other. They are now looking forward to working together! Click on Naomi's profile to learn more about her.
Meet Naomi:
My name is Indah Sari, but most people call me Naomi. I met Mili in 2008 in our small church community. When Mili told me about the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation, I was glad to help. In the beginning I only helped Mili occasionally, but now that the foundation is growing, I take on more responsibilities and have become the official cooperation partner since 2018. I very much appreciate what the foundation does for my people in Indonesia. Most charities only provide scholarships for primary and secondary education, so I’m happy that the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation is there to help the youngsters from orphanages with their university education. I’m looking forward to see the foundation grow more in the future and also make it an official charity in Indonesia, so that we can find donors here as well. I’m proud to be part of it!
