I’m very glad that I’ve had the opportunity to study at a university with the help of the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation. I wanted to do something back, so I became the cooperation partner in Indonesia, to help other young people with the ambition to study. I have the responsibility to select new candidates and supervise all students during their studies. As a graduated psychologist, I think this is a good way to apply everything that I’ve learned during my studies in practice. In this way I hope to be able to pass on the gift that I have received.
Mili has been the cooperation partner in Indonesia since the start of the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation in 2009. She is an important link between the board in the Netherlands and the students in Indonesia. She herself once belonged to the target group of youngsters that the foundation supports. With the help of a Heliconia Scholarship, she graduated for Psychology in 2012 at the Binus University in Jakarta. Because of her background, she knows exactly what is going on in the field and where the needs lie. Mili Chana is responsible for the selection and guidance of students in Indonesia. Since 2012, she works together with Naomi Indah Sari. Mili and Naomi have weekly contact with the board in the Netherlands.
