Hello, my name is Salsa. I used to be called Salsa or Zetta. I studied at LSPR (London School of Public Relations), majoring in Communication science. I major in Communication because I enjoy communicating with others and I like public speaking. I live at the Hati Suci shelter. I live in the shelter since I was in Kindergarten until now. I really like living in the shelter, I love to call it home, because, indeed, the Hati Suci shelter is a place of refuge, especially for girls. Living here is very nice because we are treated like family.
I live in the Hati Suci shelter because I was abandoned by my father when I was two years old and my mother died when I was in the 4th grade. My mother was a great woman who took care of me by herself without any help from my father. My mother had been both father and mother to me. It was not an easy role, but she was capable of carrying it out strongly.
Besides living in the shelter, sometimes I live with my grandma, she takes care of me by taking my mom’s role. I am very grateful because I am surrounded by great and strong women in my life. Sometimes there are things we need to be grateful for in our lives.
Finally, I got a Heliconia Scholarship and it was always my first dream to continue my studies to a higher level, I really want to go to college. My second dream was to get a scholarship. By getting a scholarship from Heliconia I can learn many lessons, I can learn how to be responsible for my study and take this scholarship seriously.
My commitment after college is that I want to graduate on time and I will immediately look for a job so that I can live independently, so the Hati Suci and Heliconia will be proud of me. And most of all, my grandmother, the woman who I really love, I really want to make her proud.

In the 7th semester, I had no more class. I did an internship at PT Java Energy Semesta from October 1st, 2025 until February 28th, 2026. I was very happy when being an intern because I got a lot of knowledge and experiences from the internship. On October 24th, 2025 I was trusted to be the chairman of the grand opening event of my boss’s F&B restaurant called Bakso Senggol. I am proud of myself because the restaurant was broadcasted by Trans TV for their TV programme “Ok Cuan” on October 15th, 2025. Bakso Senggol also got the opportunity to be the sponsor of NIA the movie on December 4th, 2025 at Epicentrum Jakarta.
During my intership, I was very tired because it was my first time working and I’m not used to it, but it was fun too. After my internship finish, I want to do my thesis well and graduate on time. Heliconia is very supportive in every way, in most of my activities both outside and inside the campus.

The lesson I learned from semester 5 is that I have to be smarter in choosing friends because this semester, my friends didn’t do assignments. I did the assignments by myself because they were lazy even though the assignments and exams were group assignments.
Nothing special in this semester, but apart from that I am very proud to be selected as the best student and receive an award from the university. The fun part is getting a very good statistics lecturer, named Mr. Nala. My goal is to focus on the final assignment before doing the thesis. The assignment was creating a social event between students in the university. My event was on June 28th, 2025, I held an event about empowering small business which run by Indonesia women. This event was supported by the Ministry of Tourism. Every class competed each other to create the best event, and my class won the best.

In the 4th semester I had some courses, both practical and written, but I enjoyed the practical course more. The most enjoyable part of this semester was that I got the opportunity to create an event called “Kejora”. Kejora was a sport competition event for college and high school students. I was also join the AI seminar in August 2024. Everything was fun in this semester, I was just a little tired because of so many activities that were held by the Students Council. For the next semester, I really want to improve my achievement in studying. I want to study harder and be more enthusiasm because there will be several lessons that are quite difficult.
Heliconia always supports us by giving positivity and dedication. Heliconia’s guidance is everything, encourages every activity, always offers suggestions to improve it, tells us what we should do, and constantly asks what makes us uncomfortable in some situation. Heliconia also makes sure to pay attention to every student.

Message from Salsa, March 2024
In the 3rd semester, the most important lessons are to be more patient and active. The most memorable event was when I did the Event Management exam, we worked in a group to create an event. My group went to BSD Tanggerang to do a survey in January 2024. We collaborated with Grab company to hold an event to promote electric motorcycle. I was happy when my group achieved good scores. The saddest thing happened when one of my lecturers passed away. Then other lecturers took over my classes for the first half of the semester, it was uneasy for us because they have different teaching methods.
In the next semester, I want to cut down unnecessary things so that I can concentrate on my study more and avoid making the same mistakes. I want to study harder. I’m very excited for the next semester because there will be Spanish course, it is my favorite language.
I personally feel the guidance from Heliconia for all advices that have given to me. It is very helpful and beneficial for me, especially about discipline and maintaining our attitude. Heliconia encourages us to constantly be disciplined in all we do, to always remember the kindness of the shelter, and to keep our grades stable in any lecturing activity.

Message from Salsa, September 2023
In the 2nd semester, I joined several extracurricular, such as Muaythai and Christian organization. I also participated to some university events. This semester had more learning, assignments, and group projects, which forced me to develop my interpersonal communication skills and my ability to respect others in every collaboration. However, there were many lessons that I learned from group projects that can be applied to daily life. I also got an opportunity to be a Master of Ceremony (MC) for the studio’s birthday celebration at the Film Center.
After all tasks were done, I had holidays. I spent my holidays in the shelter, taking care of the younger children, managing the canteen, and assisting the caregivers. I also helped the younger children to prepare for their school and accompanied them to buy school supplies in Tanah Abang.
On August 19th, 2023, I went to Ragunan (Jakarta Zoo) with my campus friends to celebrate Independence Day of Indonesia. Then on August 27th, 2023, I joined a group activity to do a “5 km running” in BSD with all Hati Suci members. I also was chosen to be part in Students Council (BEM) as a Futsal Administrator. I want to be more focus on my study for the upcoming semesters and to increase my grades. Thank to Heliconia for their assistances, especially Carli and Naomi who are constantly on call and striving the best for Heliconia students.

Studying is something that I am very grateful for in my life, becoming a university student is my dream. I would like to thank Heliconia Scholarship Foundation for giving me a scholarship to study in the major that I interest in my dream university. In the 1st semester, there were many things that surprised me. Studying at university and school are very much different from many angles, also different of friendship style. I learned to think the good side and also choose good friends, so I can ignore the bad influence.
On January 14th, 2023, I celebrated Christmas in the shelter. We had dinner together, worshipped God, and did some performances. This event has strengthen the togetherness we all have. The final exams in this semester were held for two weeks. I had many tasks to do, with the persistence that I have, I never delayed assignments. I got satisfactory results, but to be honest, I really want to improve my scores to be better. I want to be more diligent. I learned to be able to manage my time well.
On January 25th, 2023, I was involved in a theater performance at university, it was one of the final exams for the PAC course. I learned a lot from this theater, not only lessons but obstacles. I could handle it calmly and got very good results. The theater won the nomination of the best make up, property and the best actress. I was very proud of the hard work my friends and I had done. In this theater I contributed as an acting coach, became an usher for the VIP section, I also did hairdo for actors.
