Pub quiz and meetings at student faculties

Pub quiz
The Heliconia Scholarship Foundation (formerly known as Stichting Heliconia) was invited to the December dinner of the Amsterdam student art association Particolarte, on 11 December 2011. We organised a fun pub quiz with questions about art, film, music, charities and the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation in particular. Team ‘Party Committee Gaga’ had the highest score and became the winner of a large bottle of La Chouffe Beer!

The evening was fun and successful. We shared information about our work and that we are always looking for students to support us in our mission.  The board of Particolarte had increased the admission fee, so we received €80,- in donations. Thanks to the board of Particolarte and all the participating students!

Meeting at the Faculty of Health Sciences
Earlier this year, on 5 April 2011, the Heliconia Scholarship Foundation went to Salus, the student association of the Health Sciences major at the Vrije University Amsterdam. We shared about our work and the importance of studying, not only for Dutch students but also for young adults in Indonesia. We handed out flyers to encourage the students to join us in our mission. We received €50,- in donations. Thanks to all donors!

Meeting at the Faculty of Anthropology
The Heliconia Scholarship Foundation was also present at Kwakiutl, the student association of the major Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, on 17 February 2011. We held a playful promotion activity, where we raffled a bottle of beer. We raised €100,- and some students are enthusiastic about helping us with future activities.
